Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning & exhibit leadership in their school & professional community by promoting & demonstrating the effective use of digital tools & resources.

 

Teachers:

a.  Participate in local & global learning communities to explore creative applications of technologyto improve student learning.
b.  Exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion, participating in shared decision making & community building, and developing the leadership & technology skills of others. 
c.  Evaluate & reflect on current research & professional practice on a regular basis to make effective use of existing & emerging digital tools & resource in support of student learning.

5a.  Ignite a Maker
5a. In the winter of 2015, I was selected for an Ignite a Maker grant, allowing me to collaborate with other professionals to learn how to create e-textiles using code. This artifact, which was featured on the show "Wearable Wednesday," is one of the outcomes. Sharing my learning with others was another.
5a.  Paper Circuits at TBPS
5a. I was invited to collaborate with Thatcher Brook Primary School to teach third & fourth grade students about paper circuitry. I helped them integrate circuits into paper lanterns that they made for the Sixth annual River of Light Parade in Waterbury, held 5 Dec. 2015.
5b.  Presenter at CML
5b. During the summer of 2015, I taught soft circuits (paper circuitry & e-textiles) workshops to a wonderful group of educators.
5b.  Presenter at Dynamic Landscapes
5b. In the spring of 2015, I presented two workshops at Dynamic Landscapes to help teacher others about creative ways to teach copyright and green screen in the classroom.
